    Frontend engineer

    Taiwan's largest job platform, 104 · New Taipei, Taiwan

    Frontend Engineer at 104 (2018 – 2024): Taiwan's largest job platform. Worked in a small product team of around seven, owning the front end across three products and mentoring junior developers.

    • Started 104's new job site for people aged 45 and over, in Vue/Nuxt with server-side rendering. I made its first commit, and worked on its job-seeker pages, employer pages and internal admin.
    • Set up the Express BFF behind it, based on our sister product's server. Every API call went through the app's own origin, and the server attached the auth header and hid the backend domain. I wrote most of its API routes.
    • Added the 104 account-centre login routes on top of the team's existing OIDC module. Sessions were stored in Redis.
    • Earlier, on a React platform that matched families with carers, I added server-side rendering so search engines could read it. I also built a Google Maps "carers near you" view with pin clustering, and an hourly availability grid.
    • Introduced the team's first automated testing on that React project — Jest for unit tests and Nightwatch.js for end-to-end; wrote the first suites, taught the team to write their own, and made passing tests a required step in the pull-request process.
    • Owned SEO fundamentals on the server-rendered pages — main author of the structured data (JSON-LD) markup, plus canonical tags and meta.

    • Developed full-stack e-commerce solutions using PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and jQuery.
    • Integrated APIs from major e-commerce platforms (Yahoo and Momo) to automate product listings and data synchronisation.
